5-STAGE PRETREAT PROCESS

Stage 1:

An oakite aluminum cleaner NSS. This is a non-silicate liquid aluminum cleaner that is power spray washed onto the product.

Stage 2:

Rinse - from standard water supply, power sprayed at a temperature of 130°F.

Stage 3:

Garobond A4921 is power spray washed onto the product. This chemical is an acidic, liquid product used to pretreat iron, steel, aluminum and zinc substrates for organic coatings. This process provides salt spray performance superior to conventional iron phosphates.

Stage 4:

Rinse - from standard water supply, product is power sprayed washed at a temperature of 90°F.

Stage 5:

Gardolene D6871 is power spray washed onto the product. This is a non-chrome final seal for phosphate conversion coating process. It enhances paint adhesion and corrosion resistant properties and is applied at 70°F.

Chemical testing is performed on a daily basis for stages 1, 3, and 5 to assure proper levels of concentration, PH, and total and free acids, etc.

Titration testing is a vital procedure and consists of a 5 step process that is crucial to analyzing chemical levels.

Procedures and proper equipment are in place for chemical testing at each stage.
